What is carpet agitation during the cleaning process and why is it so important?

It's simple really, the agitation process is the action of loosening soil to make it easier to remove from wherever it's attached to. It's not too complicated of a process but it often gets missed. Most people don't see the value in purchasing the agitation step when cleaning their carpets so let me explain why it's so important.

If you are washing your hands, you first apply the cleaning product (in this case soap) and then you agitate your hands by rubbing them together. Then you rinse your hands under water making them nice and clean. If you're washing your car, you get your cleaning product ready in the bucket, put your sponge in and then agitate the body of the car with the sponge to clean it. Then you rinse it off. If you are washing your hair, you apply the shampoo then you agitate with your fingers before rinsing it out.

If we didn't agitate and just rinsed the product off, how clean do you think your hands would be? How about your car? Your hair?

Logic tells you that missing the agitation step could be critical to the outcome of any cleaning. So why doesn't every carpet cleaning company offer it? A quality carpet cleaning company will offer it. We always offer this step to our customers, however, a lot of them don't see the value in it. Money is tight for a lot of consumers too nowadays and it's simply not in their budget. At A Quality Carpet Cleaning we do our best to keep the little "extras" in our cleanings affordable to everyone. If you haven't experienced a cleaning with agitation yet, let us show you how it's done.

How exactly is agitation done in carpet cleaning? Simple, we come in with yet another piece of equipment. There are several to choose from, but some look like floor buffers, others look like giant fancy vacuums with no suction but a good beater bar to agitate the fibers. These tools allow us to massage the carpet fibers deep down and loosen the soil in combination with the use of the proper cleaning agent and extraction equipment. This process leaves your carpet soft, fresh and better than brand new!
