How to get ready for the carpet cleaner Reno Sparks

There's a few things you want to do when you have a professional carpet cleaning company scheduled to come clean your carpets. First thing, pick up everything you can around the house. I'm always the last to schedule the carpets at our house because there is so much to pick up. Kids toys, rugs and runners, plants, shoes, trash cans, etc. Move what furniture you can from the carpet to your hard surfaces such as the kitchen and bathroom. Once everything is picked up, you want to go though and vacuum each room as best you can. Don't rush the vacuuming because this is what is removing the lose dirt before the carpet get cleaned. The more loose dirt you removed the better the carpets get cleaned. The other important reason to move everything before we show up is so we can get right to work. We can clean the average house in less than 2 hours. Happy carpet cleaning everyone!

First Impressions Reno Sparks

It may not be fair, but you only have a few minutes to make or break how a customer views your company.

Put yourself in their shoes. If you're looking out the window at the company who sent a truck to do the job, what do you think of their arrival? Is their truck clean? Did they promptly come up to the door and cheerfully greet you?

These are just some of the things we try to achieve when coming to clean the carpet at your house. Only the best carpet cleaning companies realize that the first couple of minutes of any job are crucial to a growing business.

Cleaning Carpet Reno Sparks

How often do you clean your car? If you're like me, you can only go about 2 weeks before it starts driving you crazy. Especially in the winter months. All that dirt and mud really gets to me. Think about how dirty your carpets are at your house compared to how often you clean them.

A good rule of thumb is to clean your carpets every 6 months. Especially if you have pets and or kids. If you own your home, your carpet is a huge investment. Have you ever priced the cost it would take to recarpet your entire house? And what about the carpet padding? Carpet does a lot of work in your home and you should take really good care of it by keeping it clean.

One of the most important things to remember is to vacuum your carpet at least once a week. Leaving dirt in your carpet wears it down over time, literally eating away at the carpet fibers with each step you take. You can clean away the dirt on carpet but you can't clean away wear.

Carpet Cleaning versus Carpet Restoration

There is a big difference between carpet cleaning and carpet restoration.

For many of us we are performing carpet cleaning projects. The carpet whether residential or commercial and whether it has been properly maintained and professionally cleaned on a timely basis, carpet cleaning projects are fairly simple using the professional grade chemistry, cleaning tools and industrial equipment most of us are presently using.

We may have some soil wicking occur in heavily soiled areas or need some spot or stain removal procedures, but the issues are usually rectified by a secondary cleaning or the use of formulated products designed specifically for the situation.

When it comes to the carpet restoration, a well thought out plan of action is required. The carpet installation, construction, fiber and soil load must be examined so we can properly pre-qualify the project and determine the correct methods and chemistry to bring the carpet back to a condition acceptable to the client. Then we must set up a maintenance program to maintain the lifespan of the carpet.

Always take before and after photos when performing a restoration as the results can be amazing!

Hardwood Cleaning Tips

The Benefits of Professional Tile and Grout Cleaning

Dirty tile and grout that accumulates grime and mold is not ideal in any household. Tile tends to be in the bathroom and the kitchen, two areas that collect a lot of moisture, which builds up mold, dirt and makes the tile and grout look unsightly. What are the benefits to cleaning your tile and grout?

First off, it is easy to clean if you routinely clean the tile and grout. You can use a simple water mixture with detergent or soap to gently clean the surface. If you have been keeping up on cleaning the tile and grout then you don’t need to worry about hiring a professional cleaner.

A professional cleaner might be necessary for longer stains, mold and dirt that have built up over years. Professional cleaners can use stronger cleaners with special equipment to effectively remove the stains that normal household cleansers cannot get to. A combination of chemical cleaners, steamers, and vacuum systems can be used to clean and sanitize the tile and grout. They will also apply sealants as well, which will prevent any new stains and the accumulation of dirt from happening again. This professional cleaning can take around two to three hours, but it depends on the size of the area and how serious the cleaning is.

Once the tile and grout is clean the room will look clean and spotless, as opposed to before where the room looked dingy and old. Proper care to tile and grout can change the whole appearance of a room, making it stand out even more with a clean floor. This is especially important if it is in the kitchen because nobody wants to eat where the floor looks dirty and moldy. Your entire home can feel more clean and sanitary after doing some serious cleaning to the tile and grout around your house.

If you think your tile and grout needs to be cleaned and it has been awhile, considering hiring a professional to clean the tile and grout extensively to get a brand new appearance on your floor. Your home will look and feel more clean than it ever has before with this new looking tile and grout to make you feel comfortable and at ease. Routinely clean your tile and group with some household cleaning solutions to ensure the floor continues to look beautiful and sparkling.

Clean your carpets Reno Sparks!

Waiting until your carpets are visibly dirty to get them cleaned is never a good idea. Did you know an 8x10 rug can hold 100 pounds of dirt before it looks dirty? Imagine how much dirt you carpet can hold.

Carpet acts as a filter for the air in your home as well. Dust and dirt settle in your carpet and that is why you should vacuum at least once a week. If you have pets and or kids you should clean your carpets every 6 months. Otherwise once a year would probably work just fine for you.

Why should you get your carpets cleaned? Reno Sparks

There are several reasons why most people get their carpets cleaned. Maybe you have company coming, your pet had an accident or someone spilled something that you just can’t get out yourself. These are all good reasons, but the most important reason to clean your carpets on a regular basis is for your health. If you think about it, your carpet collects and filters various spilled matter, airborne particles and any soil that enters your home. Truth is that by the time your carpet looks dirty it’s weighted down with contaminants. To name a few you have dust mites, bacteria, allergens, dirt and food particles. You carpet collects them and therefore needs to be cleaned out every so often.
I’m sure you’re asking yourself, “Why don’t we just get rid of the carpet?” Well, hard surface floors simply allow these contaminants to roam around and stay airborne. Just walking around on hard surfaces disturbs the particles whereas carpet traps them. Hardwood needs to be cleaned on a constant basis and having tile just allows the bacteria to settle in the grout and live there instead. No matter what kind of flooring you have in your house, you always need to have it cleaned on a regular basis. The cost of cleaning carpet is very minimal compared to the cost of cleaning tile or hardwood.
Living with these contaminants in your house could contribute to your family’s health and allergy problems. Carpet manufacturers recommend that at the very least you should be cleaning your carpet every 18 months. Other factors such as how many children live in the home, soiling conditions, allergy conditions, health status of those who occupy the home and the types of activities being conducted play an important role in how often you should clean. If you’ve installed new carpet in your home you manufacturer may require that you clean your carpet every 12 months to maintain your warranty. Between cleanings you should be vacuuming your carpet on a regular basis. Vacuuming can remove a great deal of dirt.
Most people are now aware that indoor air pollution is an issue and growing concern. One type of cleaning that a lot of people overlook is air duct cleaning. All the particles that end up in your carpet are constantly being recycled through the air in your house. These particles can settle in your ducting system as well. Obviously vents in the floor collect more dirt than ones in the ceiling and we have found everything from cigarette butts from the construction crew that built the house to soda cans, kid’s toys and animal waste. Changing the filter on your cold air return every 3-4 months helps a great deal but you should be cleaning your air ducts every 3 to 5 years depending on your home’s conditions. If you have allergies, you may want to clean them more often to help relieve your allergy symptoms.
No matter what kind of cleaning you decide to do, always consult a professional. We are here to answer all the questions you may have and provide you with the information you need to make an educated decision on what is best for your family and home. You can call us anytime at 775-741-5149

Benefits of Using Area Rugs

Don't use area rugs to cover spots, stains or damaged carpet. Use them because they are beneficial to your home. Area rugs can provide extra thermal resistance on hard surfaces helping the heating bill in your home.

Area rugs can also give a room a nice makeover or make a bold statement. They can add a little extra cushion for any little ones you may have running around too. A good rug can also define a space in a larger area. For instance, placing your sofa and other furniture around a rug instantly creates a homely lounging area.

The best use of rugs is in traffic lanes. Use them at your front and garage doors to help prevent wear and tear on the carpet underneath. You can easily replace a rug versus the cost of replacing the carpet. You can always clean carpet but you can't remove wear.

A Step Above

Just one of the many things we do that sets us apart from other carpet cleaners. We use corner guards so that when we are in your house cleaning, we don't damage the corners of your walls. If you ever see blue marks on someone's corners, it's because one of their previous carpet cleaners didn't use corner guards.

Why Purchase Carpet Protector?

Carpet protect creates an invisible shield around each carpet fiber to resist soil and stains. It repels most liquids allowing most spills to be removed before staining and wicking can occur.

Unprotected carpet allows dirt to quickly become embedded in the carpet fibers. Protect carpet prevents this and allows you to care for your carpet easier.

So, how often should I have the protector reapplied?
Carpet protector is removed during the cleaning process so it needs to be reapplied each time you clean or at the least every other time. Carpet protector is applied by a spray application and dries quickly. It leaves no odor, it is nontoxic and safe for kids and pets.

The next time you clean, ask us about carpet protector!
