Cleaning your hard surfaces
No matter what kind of hard flooring you have in your home, you want to make sure you're using the right cleaner. Whatever you do don't use a soap based cleaner on your hard surfaces. This will create a traffic lane coming out of places like your kitchen and bathroom. When you clean with a soap based product it will always leave a residue on the floor no matter how well you think you rinse it. You step from your hard floor to your carpet and now you have soap on your carpet which naturally attracts dirt. If anything, the best thing to use is white vinegar and water. Mix the two 50/50 and it will leave your floors cleaner as well as your carpet.
