Why Clean
Your Air Ducts?
- Most people spend 60-90% of their time indoors and 50% of illnesses are caused or aggravated by polluted indoor air.
- Children are more affected by polluted air because they breathe faster and are closer to the ground where concentration of pollutants is higher.
- One out of six people who suffer from allergies do so because of fungi and bacteria in their air duct system
- The average six room house produces 40 pounds of dust every year.
- Air pollutants can cause lung disease.
- The EPA reports that poor indoor air quality is among the Top 5 environmental risks to public health.
How Often Should We Clean Our Ducts?
Frequency depends on the factors in your home:
- Do you smoke?
- Do you have pets? Do they shed?
- Anyone in the house have asthma or allergies?
- Did you remodel your home?
- Did you just purchase your home?
Chances are if you just moved in, the air ducts have never been cleaned.
Good rule of thumb is to clean every 3 to 5 years.
